My Healing Journey:

My journey started at the age of 15 years when I lost my dad, he was 38. This was the tragedy that started my journey with therapy. The moment of his passing stunted my emotional growth, sent me into a depression, and created unhealthy coping skills. As I got older and through a variety of life transitions, therapy exposed me to a variety of modalities I now use today in my practice.

Attempting to navigate my grief, I attended multiple therapy sessions firstly due to the loss of my father and later due to multiple miscarriages. During this journey, I learned to heal past wounds and let go of survival stargates that were not serving me anymore. Most importantly, how to connect to my heart and be there for myself.  My therapy journey from heartache to healing inspired me to gain further understanding a pushed me to achieve a second master’s degree in family therapy. I also obtained training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Masters level Neuro Affective Relational Model (NARM).

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with a MS Family Therapy from Friends University, a MS School Counseling K-12, and a BS in Elementary Education from Emporia State University. I am a certified EMDR therapist.  I have worked with individuals and families for the past 25 years.

I am an integrative psychotherapist who brings together different elements of specific therapies to coordinate treatment to your individual needs.

My credentials include:

  • Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist

  • EMDRIA Certified EMDR Therapist

  • Trauma Recovery/EMDR HAP trained

  • EMDR R-TEP(Recent Traumatic Episode Protocol)/GTEP(Group Traumatic Episode Protocol) trained

  • NARM (Neuro-Affective Relational Model) Masters-level trained

Often there are parallel processes to what’s not going right today and a past event that may need exploring or re-processing.  Healing can occur when we bridge compassion and love with our younger selves.

My passion is to partner with YOU on your healing journey. Part of this process includes letting go of youth and survival strategies that aren't serving you anymore while embracing and connecting to your own inner wisdom and healing power.

Throughout my own healing journey I most benefited from the following therapy modalities:  EMDR, NARM, inner child work, mindfulness as well as Shamanism.  These practices as well as nurturing myself through nature- hiking, kayaking, meditating, allowed me to connect to my heart in a loving way.

My intentions as your therapist:

  • My intention is to be fully present with you.

  • My intention is to provide a container of safety for you.

  • My intention is to stay connected to my heart throughout our session.

  • My intention is to help you access your inner healing power.

  • My intention is to connect with your heart and what you want most for yourself.

  • My intention is to follow the thread of your intention throughout our sessions.
